Pender Bay Escape is owned and operated by Goojarr Goonyool Aboriginal Corporation. A registered charity, Goojarr Goonyool is committed to whale conservation, and has, for many years, provided training and educational opportunities for locals and visitors regarding the region’s environmental importance.

In 2006 this site was chosen to complete 8 years of shore-based humpback whale surveys. In a separate satellite snapshot survey, Pender Bay spatial distribution was discovered to be 5 whales per square km. Since the completion of these surveys the traditional owners have opened the location to visitors with stunning views from the clifftop sites, where you have a ‘front seat’ ticket to watch the whales - sometimes they come so close to the campsite, you can hear them breathing!

The owners supply free educational survey data to all guests (please bring a USB). There are only a very limited number of campsites available, which means you have a great chance to claim one of the two beautiful clear water beaches all to yourself!

A quiet, peaceful location with private beaches and great fishing – stay, play, and absorb some total relaxation – and come sundown, you're more than welcome to light up a fire - just remember to enjoy the beautiful night sky and the company as well. Amenities include: secluded or family caravan hub ocean frontage unpowered bush camping, stunning lookouts and walks, beach parking, boat ramp,

Free educational survey data (please bring a USB).

Children under 12 free of charge.

Sorry, no pets, no drones.
